Can the auto place do this to us?

About 5 months ago my boyfriends car broke down and the shift broke. i guess a shifter cable bushing needed to be replaced. thats what they said at Midas. they wouldnt tell us exactly, i think because the part was very cheap online but if they ordered it, it would cost more. so after the part and labor, it came to almost $400.

now, it happened again. the car is only used for work and errands and we live very close to those places and is taken care of. they said because this just happened a couple months ago. we dont have to pay for the part. My 1998 Ford Escort died on the Ben Franklin bridge the other night, wouldn't start back up and we had to have it towed home - then trying to bring it to a mechanic the next day it died multiple times but did start back up after no longer than ten minutes. We ultimately had to bring it to Pep Boys who were the only ones nearby open. They want to replace the car's computer, which I am guessing would be the ECM in this situation and he is saying it would cost $800 new or $400 used. I saw some models online for $150 but also others for $500, so is this a reasonable fix/price for this problem?

Do you think my Dwarf Hamster has a tumor?

My hamster has a little bump on his stomach, it is his normal skin color. It is not red or purple or what ever most people say there hamster's tumor color was. Maybe what my hamster has is a tumor but its still small? at the end of the bump (which is by the way on his stomach) there is a tiny red dot. He has a hard time getting up some time when he falls on his back. He is 2 years and about 2 months old. I take good care of him and i really worry. If it is a tumor i can't go to the vet to get it treated, because if it is a young tumor i heard it is good to take it out when its still small. but i dont really see it getting THAT much bigger, but it still looks like a little ball bump. I read online that its good to put car engine oil on it ? does that sound good. he is already an old hamster but he still moves alot. I have trawled the internet trying to find a telephone number some basic advice, and there is nothing helpful. I even spent an hour with a French friend and he was as perplexed as I was.

I tracked down one site for paying fines online and an automated telephone service, but the code on my ticket does not match the required number of digits (i have only 8). I believe both these services are for speeding, not parking and they ask for 14 digits.

I'm not sure if travellers cheques would be acceptable. Ideally I would do a bank transfer but there is no-one to ask about the procedure. I want to sort this out before penalties are added. Can anyone help please?

Good beginner motorcycle?

Okay so I finally got my dad to let me buy a motorcycle once I graduate from high school and enroll in the local community college. (it will be my first motorcycle) I'm only really interested in sport bikes and have always liked the way the 2008+ Kawasaki Ninja 250r looks. I have been doing a lot of research this last week online and at dealerships and have realized that I might want something more than a 250cc. A lot of people on online forums say that a 600cc is a great starter bike, but others say a motorcycle such as a GSX-R600 is too much bike for a beginner. After reading more I have realized that a 600cc that isn't in the "super bike" class is a good starter. So now i'm really thinking about a used ninja 650r, preferably the newer body style. I sat on a ninja 650r and a 250r; they both were a great fit for me. I'm about 5'8" and 145 pounds. I'm also going to take the MSF safety course before I get the bike. I'm only buying a bike for recreational purposes because I already have a car for daily driving. I want something that I won't grow out of really quick, has some power, and will help me learn how to ride correctly. I know there's already a lot of questions like this on answers but I wanted to ask one for my specific situation. I would really appreciate it if some experienced riders could help guide me in the right direction, thanks.

i live in south wales (Pembrokeshire) and i'm trying to buy my first car, i've seen many perfectly suitable cars online (ebay, auto trader) but i don't have any way of getting to them since i live in a very remote area. Even if i could get to a potential seller i don't have my full license yet so i won't be able to get the car home.

I bought a Cosco Scenera for my daughter to use in my parents' van, which is LATCH equipped. I unfortunately lost my manual to this seat, so I can't find where the LATCH is located! I was looking online and it said newer cars will ignor you if you slam it into reverse going say 60mph down a highway, and older but still modern cars will stall when you do it but cause no harm. So i did it and my car indeed stalled, so i was wondering what year cars started getting this ignor feature.
